Markup Typically 40–100% on the consultant's rate. A $92 an hour consultant bills at $129–$184 through a staffing agency and $110 on Turbin. The markup, not the rate, is what moves your budget.
AMS Hours, deliverables and the monthly report you should be getting. A typical support firm (AMS) keeps about half of what you pay per hour. A $92 an hour consultant plus 20% is the number to compare against.
HCM $60–$120 an hour across the HCM family, median $84. Core HCM sits at $80 from the deepest pool; Talent and Performance is highest at $95, and Compensation carries the widest certification premium.
Payroll $80–$115 an hour for US and Canadian Payroll, median $90; consultants holding a validated Payroll certification set $120, one of the widest certification gaps in Workday.
Recruiting $70–$110 an hour, median $85. A validated Recruiting certification lifts the median to $115, a gap only Compensation beats. Talent and Learning rates, what to check, and project costs.
Financials Core Finance consultants set a median of $100 an hour, middle half $80–$130. The other Financials submodules are much smaller pools, with medians from $95 to $120.
Adaptive Median $125 an hour, the highest of any Workday module. 65% hold a validated certification, but it lifts the median by only $3; the work behind the profile moves the rate.
Reporting Reporting consultants set a median of $85 an hour, from the second-largest pool on Turbin; Prism Analytics consultants set $80. A validated Reporting certification lifts the median to $100.
Integrations $60–$100 an hour for Workday Integrations, median $80; specialists in Studio, Workday's advanced integration tool, charge $95. Why the tool sets the rate, what to check, and what builds cost.
Security $80–$118 an hour for Workday Security, median $92. Only 11% hold a validated certification, and their median is lower: audits and redesigns set the price.
